  1. Gather Your Supplies: First off, grab a large pitcher or jar (at least 48 ounces), loose leaf jasmine green tea (or tea bags if that’s all you have. Although, loose leaf really does taste better!), filtered water, and a strainer or cheesecloth.
  2. Measure the Tea: Add about 1 to 1.5 ounces (28-42 grams) of loose leaf jasmine green tea to your pitcher. If you’re using tea bags, use around 6-8 bags. It's okay if you don't have a kitchen scale; just eyeball it. You're aiming for a generous amount since it'll be steeping for a while.
  3. Add Water: Pour 48 ounces (6 cups) of cold, filtered water over the tea leaves. Make sure all the leaves are submerged. If they float a little, just give them a gentle stir with a spoon.
  4. Steep in the Refrigerator: Cover the pitcher and pop it into the refrigerator. Let it steep for at least 12 hours, but no more than 16. I’ve found the sweet spot is usually around 14 hours.
  5. Strain the Tea: After steeping, strain the tea through a fine-mesh strainer or a cheesecloth-lined colander into another pitcher or jar. This removes all the tea leaves, leaving you with a crystal-clear brew. Don't skip this step, unless you like chewing on tea leaves. Which, frankly, no one does.
  6. Serve and Enjoy: Pour the cold brew over ice and garnish with a lemon slice or a sprig of mint, if you’re feeling fancy. You can also add a touch of honey or agave nectar if you prefer a sweeter drink. But honestly, it’s pretty amazing as is!
