Ever have one of those mornings where you're just dragging your feet, feeling like you need a serious pick-me-up? Yeah, me too. That's when I whip up this Strawberry Peanut Butter Blast Smoothie. It's like a hug in a glass, seriously! A friend mentioned how it reminded them of a PB&J, but, like, way healthier and more awesome. Don't worry that all the ingreidents are healthy, this smoothie is very filling and tastes indulgent.

Now, I know what you might be thinking: “Peanut butter in a smoothie? Really?” Trust me on this one. The peanut butter adds a creamy, nutty richness that pairs perfectly with the sweet, tangy strawberries. It's also a fantastic source of protein and healthy fats, so you're getting a nutritional boost while satisfying your sweet tooth. Besides, everyone knows how great strawberry and peanut butter is together. It is classic. And this is better than the classic. I even added greek yogurt for extra protein to keep me full.

📖 Instructions

  1. First, rinse the strawberries under cool water. Remove the green tops with a knife and discard them. This ensures no unwanted bits end up in your smoothie.
  2. Slice the strawberries into smaller pieces. Smaller pieces blend more easily and create a smoother texture.
  3. Add the sliced strawberries to your blender. I use a standard kitchen blender, but a high-speed one will give you an extra smooth result.
  4. Measure and add the peanut butter to the blender. Be sure to use a good quality peanut butter. Creamy peanut butter works best. Crunchy can also work, depending on your preference.
  5. Pour the milk into the blender, followed by the yogurt. I prefer almond milk for its lower calorie count, but any milk works great. Greek yogurt adds a nice tang and creaminess. If you dont't have any it is all right.
  6. Add the honey, if using, for a touch of sweetness. This is optional, depending on how sweet your strawberries are and your personal preference.
  7. Place the lid tightly on the blender.
  8. Blend the mixture on high speed until smooth and creamy. This usually takes about 30-60 seconds, depending on your blender's power. Make sure you dont have any chunks. If there are some still turn the blender off, scrape down the sides, and blend again.
  9. Give it a taste and adjust sweetness as needed. If it's too thick, add a splash more milk. If it's not sweet enough, add a little more honey or a date.
  10. Pour the smoothie into a glass and enjoy immediately. You can garnish with a strawberry slice or a sprinkle of chopped peanuts if you're feeling fancy.
  11. Clean your blender right away, it is much easier to do before any of the ingredients dries. I like to add some dish soap, fill it half full with warm water, and pulse it for about 30 seconds.

📝 Notes

  • For a thicker smoothie, use frozen strawberries or add a few ice cubes.
  • Adjust the amount of honey to your liking, depending on the sweetness of the strawberries.
  • Add a tablespoon of chia seeds for extra fiber and omega-3s.
