📖 Instructions

  1. Prepare the base: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese and marshmallow fluff. Ensure the cream cheese is softened to room temperature to prevent lumps. This helps create a smooth and creamy base for the dip. Beat the mixture with an electric mixer on medium speed until well combined and fluffy.
  2. Add vanilla extract: Stir in the vanilla extract to enhance the flavor of the dip. Mix until the vanilla is evenly distributed throughout the cream cheese mixture.
  3. Divide the dip: Divide the cream cheese mixture into two equal portions. Keep one portion plain for the 'white' stripes of the flag.
  4. Color the blue portion: Add blue food coloring to the other portion. Start with a few drops and gradually add more until you achieve a vibrant blue color. Mix well to ensure the color is uniform throughout.
  5. Assemble the flag: On a large, rectangular serving platter or tray, spread the blue-colored dip in the upper left corner to represent the 'stars' field of the American flag. Make sure its a decent size for the amount of blueberries you have.
  6. Create the stripes: Arrange the sliced strawberries and plain cream cheese dip in alternating horizontal stripes across the rest of the platter. Start with a row of strawberries, then a row of the cream cheese dip, and continue alternating until you reach the bottom of the platter. Try to make the stripes as even as possible for a neater look. It's okay if they're not perfect!
  7. Add the stars: Gently place blueberries on top of the blue cream cheese dip to represent the stars. Arrange them in neat rows for a classic American flag look. This step requires a bit of patience, but the result is worth it!
  8. Chill before serving: Cover the platter with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the dip to firm up and the flavors to meld. This also helps the fruit stay fresh.
  9. Serve with fruit: Serve the American Flag Fruit Dip with an assortment of fresh fruit, such as apple slices, banana slices, grapes, and raspberries. You can also add crackers or cookies for dipping if you prefer.
  10. Garnish (optional): Before serving, you can garnish the platter with a sprinkle of powdered sugar or a few fresh mint leaves for an extra touch of elegance. This is optional, but it adds a nice visual appeal.

📝 Notes

  • For a lower-sugar option, use sugar-free marshmallow fluff.
  • Feel free to use other red and blue fruits like raspberries or blackberries.
