First things first: don't underestimate the power of pre-party planning. I know it seems obvious, but truly think about the ambiance you want to create. Is it glam and glitzy? Bohemian and relaxed? Funky and vibrant? Defining your vibe upfront prevents last-minute panics. I recommend making a mood board – I used Pinterest, obviously. Seriously, it's easier than you think! Also, create a checklist. I always make a list that I can check off, it helps to make sure I don't miss anything. The list is one of the most important things to remember before throwing a party.

Hotel rooms, especially those not designed for parties, can feel a bit cramped. So, think vertically! Instead of spreading things out, focus on maximizing wall space. We used washi tape to create geometric designs on the walls, adding a fun pop of color and texture. And don't be afraid to get creative with hanging decorations. Think streamers, paper lanterns, photo clips – all these things can add major impact to a small room.
Here's a tip: If you're worried about damaging the walls, use removable adhesives or clips to hang decorations. No one wants to pay extra fees upon checkout! Also, avoid bulky furniture; opt for smaller, versatile pieces that can be easily moved around and repositioned.

Music sets the tone of the party. A carefully curated playlist is essential. Consider your guests’ taste but make sure the playlist fits the party theme! What's the party for? Is it a birthday or a casual get-together? Music is vital! We made a collaborative playlist on Spotify and everyone contributed. This helps to make sure that everyone likes the music and the music will reflect on all of the guests attending the party.

Beyond just the decor, think about the overall experience you want to create. Will there be games? A photo booth? What kind of food and drinks will you serve? These elements contribute equally to the atmosphere. I recommend sticking to easy-to-manage snacks and drinks so you're not stressed throughout the whole event.

Last but not least, let's talk about cleanup. Even the best party comes to an end and hotel rooms need to be cleaned up before checking out. Having a designated cleanup crew is a great way to make sure that the event space will be left clean and organized. Nothing ruins a good time like battling a mountain of mess after a party. Prepare trash bags beforehand. Also, if you can bring a mini vacuum cleaner, it would be very helpful.
