Not only can you catch tiger fish – ferocious fighters with razor-sharp teeth – but you can also witness some of Africa's most iconic wildlife in its natural habitat. This is a high-end fishing experience, though – you’ll likely be paying for a guided safari and high-quality accommodations. Still, it's an experience I've always dreamed of and hopefully will do soon enough!

Now, for something a bit different. The Great Barrier Reef is famous for its coral, but did you know it’s also a fantastic fishing spot? The Colorado River cuts through the stunning canyons of the American Southwest, creating breathtaking scenery and outstanding fishing opportunities. This area offers fantastic smallmouth bass fishing and the scenery is just... wow. This place is perfect for a more relaxed fishing trip, whether you're into fly fishing or using other techniques. But don't forget the sunscreen!

7. Loch Lomond, Scotland: Misty Mountains and Mighty Fish
For a truly unique experience, head to Scotland's Loch Lomond. The scenery is majestic, with misty mountains and ancient forests reflecting on the calm waters. The loch is home to a variety of fish, including pike and trout. If you want peace and quiet, whilst enjoying excellent fishing, this is it. And maybe a dram of whisky afterwards?
